Income program consultation opportunity: New dates added

As advocated in the Disability Matters Vote campaign, the Government of Manitoba is developing a new income program for people with severe and prolonged disability. They are holding consultations this month in Winnipeg, Steinbach, Thompson, and Brandon as well as an online survey.

The online consultation seeks input on the same questions as the in-person session and is available until January 31, 2020. Click www.gov.mb.ca/fs/disability-income-program-consultations.html to start the survey.

Please register to attend and share this information with others who may be interested in attending.

Please contact Sana Amjad by email at Sana.Amjad@gov.mb.ca, or by telephone at 204-945-0865, if you are interested in attending the consultation session as soon as possible. Please indicate if you require any specific accessibility accommodations to participate.

The province is also providing an opportunity for more Manitobans to provide initial input through an online consultation. If you are unable to attend the in-person session, you may wish to use this tool to share your views.

This is the first step in a multi-staged consultation plan, so there will also be additional opportunities for you to provide feedback once the province develops options for program design.
